This place is the best in bali, you feel like in a luxury hotel but a buget price, simple perfect, nice and competent staff, new and clean and big rooms

The room and pool was great staff friendly for rates it was on budget breakfast served in room and choice givin and was nice I would recommend for a few nights budget break

Location was not the best most taxi disnt know where it was and not well signposted was down a very dark alley that lead to a dark road had to get taxi to shops and restaurants being solo traveller did not want to eat out every nite and felt not much choice in arranging food as no restaurant or shop on site and could not walk to shops in dark which did not make me feel safe

Although it was a little farther away from the main strip of Seminyak than I would have liked, the accommodation was amazing, especially for the price. The room was super clean with western fixtures, a/c, and hot water. The pool was beautiful. I was recovering from a bit of Bali Belly while I was staying at the hotel and the bed was luxurious with clean soft sheets, nice pillows, and down comforter. I realize down may seem ridiculous for a warm climate, but I like to sleep with weight and it's a perfect combo with a/C. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the staff were some of the nicest people I have ever encountered at a hotel.

The only downside is that from what I could tell (and to be honest, I didn't venture out because I wasn't feeling well), it was not easy to walk anywhere from the hotel, not even to a street to find taxis. That said, I'm sure the hotel staff would call you a taxi or car/driver to take you wherever you needed to go and it's not far/expensive to get to the main strip.

A really nice, brand new, little boutique style hotel. It only has 10 rooms and looks exactly like the pictures. The rooms are simple and tastefully decorated and very clean. The pool was lovely and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is very basic, a choice of eggs any style or nasi goreng but for the price of the accomodation, we thought we were lucky to get breakfast. The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk to the heart of seminyak, although I wouldn't want to walk at night as the dirt road is very bumpy and there is some construction going on. But taxi's are cheap. We actually felt the location was better than expected and because we had a motorbike it was not a problem for us. You can also go to the end of the road to find some shops and a little organic cafe. We have stayed in big 5 star resorts in Bali and all over asia and enjoyed three nights here just as much as our three nights at the Royal Beach seminyak hotel. But of course you can't compare the two. The uma karan is a lovely small hotel and great value for money.

The sun chairs were in the sun I.e you could not move th umbrellas to get shade. There are only three lounge chairs, although this wasn't a problem for us becasue any time we wanted a swim we basically had the pool to ourselves. A few mozzies in the room. The bumpy road leading to the hotel - although I suspect this will change in the future with all the new developments/villas going up in the area.

We were pleasantly surprised by this intimate boutique hotel. It is small but has spacious tastefully designed rooms. The staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast is a little limited if you are there for longer than a couple of days, but overall fine. It was close to south Bali's attraction, so it made for a good base. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak, quiet and restful, but also close enough to pop over for some shopping or food. Great value for money.

Although it is not far from Seminyak's shops and restaurants, at night, the lanes are quite dark and it's best to cab to somewhere for dinner. But there are plenty of food delivery services around Seminyak. Just be sure to ask the reception to help with giving directions because it is a new hotel and some cabbies were not sure of the location. Best thing to do is to site a more well known nearby hotel like Sunset Mansion, easy for the cabbies to find it from there.

Just opened, new, clean, friendly staff

The rooms are built around the main pool, you can hear people talking in your bedroom. The location is far away from restaurants, shops, and beach. had better not to stay out too late. There're not enough street lights to walk back from the shopping area. People talk to you very rudely on the street.

It is a gem. Relative new, very clean and beautifully decorated and designed small hotel with an eye for details. It is a great value for the money. Hope it will stay this way. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The location is a little bit of and most Taxi drivers didn't know the location. You should get a map to show it to the Taxi drivers

Slightly noisy early in the morning with staff talking loudly close to our room. Location was hard to find but once established was close to Seminyak but also in a quiet spot.

-It has a very cosy vibe.. -The friendly staff always there to help you with any thing.. -breakfast is nice and hot when delivered -At night a guard is on duty. -It's located away from the main road so almost zero traffic noise -pool is clean -no mosquitoes or bugs in room.. -lotsa channels on tv.. -room design is good.. -telephone in room -a villa feel with a hotel price...

We're more than satisfied staying at Uma Karan. Adore the layout of the rooms which are surrounding the pool. The rooms are great! Feel like spending the whole day there! Thank for the umbrellas that you've prepared for us even before we can feel the raindrops.

Breakfast can be improved- Indonesian breakfast too salty.

Lovely modern apartments very tastefully decorated (Japanese style). Beautiful pool. Friendly, helpful staff. Location pretty good, close to shops but not close to beach. Lots of building in surrounding area so currently not an attractive area.

Very clean and big bathroom. The room is also very big and clean. All rooms are modern and you will feel very well in them.

The breakfast was a little bit poor. You have the choice between two toasts with jam and eggs, also a juice and coffee or you take fried rice with coffee and juice. Thats Not enough if you are hungry. The second thing, I didnt like: No balkony or terrace at the rooms. The hole area of the Hotel is very very small. To small, I think. A little bit more space for balkonys at the rooms would be nice.

The staff were just gorgeous, we were traveling for business so we had a scooter to get around so the location was not an issue for us. ( it just off Sunset Rd away from the beach). The pool was lovely and the room very comfy, with a nice big bathroom. As were on the road earlish every morning we didn't bother with breakfast (it is fairly simple) we opted for stopping at our favorite places if we were so inclined to eat in the mornings. It is a small intimate setting for those that don't like BIG corporate style hotels...which we don't! :)
